Facilities
Dependable Power Systems was formed in December 1988. Fredericktown is a rural community north of Columbus, Ohio. The company presently has 14 employees and ships between 1 and 2 million dollars a year. The manufacturing and office facility has 8,800 square feet of space with enough land to for an eight fold increase. Production includes metal fabrication, welding, painting, electrical and electronic assemble, and test facilities. All drawings and designs are done on one of the CAD systems.


Customers
Dependable's customer base is mostly in the industrial, chemical, petroleum, and utilities, where the longer life and more rugged ferro design is in demand. We specialize in coming up with unique custom solutions that can better satisfy the customers application. This can be combining different pieces of equipment in one package, reducing the customers installation costs or coming up with a whole new system arrangement for a special application.


Products
Dependable Power Systems product line includes standard and custom uninterruptible power systems, inverters, static switches, battery chargers, battery eliminators, and specialty load banks. These products can come with internally or externally mounted batteries. The units are available in indoor or outdoor enclosures and can be custom sized to fit in unique applications.


Key Personnel
The owners are Russell G. Chandler and William R. Speth both are engineers with decades of experience in power. Russell has worked for Cooper Bessemer Corp., General Electric, and IMESCO, where he has been involved in the design of the electronic and electrical controls for power generation equipment, switch-gear, and process control equipment.
William R. Speth was previously the Chief Engineer at SolidState Controls Inc. and was the Engineering Manager at HDR Power Systems. At HDR, William was part of the start up of the company, designing all of the electronic control circuits, electrical power circuits, and magnetic components, as well as the mechanical package. The Dependable design is a third generation with many improvements to the SCI and HDR designs, but using the time tested, basic circuits.
